The Society of Automotive Engineers Baja SAE competition is an exciting and challenging collegiate engineering challenge . Teams of students compete in designing, manufacturing, and testing an off-road vehicle that must hold up under both punishing dynamic events in the dirt and comprehensive static examination by professional engineers.
Students that participate
in Baja SAE are
best-in-class . They simultaneously manage the rigors of an
engineering curriculum while gaining hundreds of hours of real-world
experience in engineering design and manufacturing. They have motivation,
initiative, and hands-on knowledge that separate them from their
peers.
In other words, they are just the kind of potential new engineering hires you dream about. The 2008 Baja SAE ILLINOIS competition will be held at Caterpillar’s Edwards Demonstration Area in Peoria, IL on May 29 - 31. One hundred teams composed of almost one thousand students will be attending from across the U.S. and as far as Russia and India. Coordinating and
executing an event of this scale requires significant resources, both in the
form of volunteers and financial support.
We can’t do it without
