Governing Board
Our Wichita Section governing board is a volunteer group of members that organizes all the local activities and communicates with SAE International. Anyone is welcome to attend the governing board meetings, which are usually held on the first Tuesday evening of the month. What is the Wichita Section of SAE?
We are the local section of the Society of Automotive Engineers, serving SAE members in the Wichita and central Kansas area.Our major function is the monthly meeting, usually held on the third Thursday evening of the month (except for summer and December). Our local governing board arranges plant tours, speakers, and social events. Meetings typically involve a meal and social hour, so attendees can network with others in the industry.
Volunteer opportunities are available through the Wichita Section of SAE. We judge one or two events at the regional and state Science Olympiad, and award prizes for projects at the WSU Engineering Open House. And, of course, members can volunteer to be on our governing board.
